The Power of Identity and Favor

What you allow to define you will determine your destiny.

Consider the Biblical diary of: Nehemiah. As a slave, he prayed for favor. This wasn't just any prayer. It was the bold petition of a man who knew his true identity in God. His prayer cut through the noise, gave his life focus, and when God answered and gave him favor with a king, it set in motion events that would alter world history.

Bold prayer for favor is the power of embracing your God-given identity.

Look at the men in the Bible who had favor:

  • Gideon, whom God called a mighty warrior, “The LORD is with you” (Judges 6:12).

  • Joseph, favored by his father and later by Pharaoh (Genesis 37:3).

  • Moses and Abraham, promised God's presence “I will be with you” (Exodus 3:12).

  • The disciples, assured of Christ's constant companionship, “I’ll be with you as you do this, day after day after day, right up to the end of the age” (Matthew 28:20 MSG).

These men didn't just bask in God's favor. They had to dig in and fight. They understood that favor isn't about an easy life – it's about having the strength and courage to face life's battles head-on.

It started by knowing who they were in God's eyes. Their identity in Him.

Favor in scripture always started with prayer. Not the wimpy, wish-list kind of prayer, but the kind that activates the armies of heaven. The kind that engages and embraces your true identity in Christ.

Brother, it's time to dig. It's time to pray like our lives depend on it – because they do.

Are you ready to rewrite your story and step into the identity God has for you?

I've written all this in a book called Identity: Right now, there is a deal to get two copies for just $25. Many men are getting copies to go over with another friend. Some are taking a whole group through it.

Don't just order the book - read it. And don't just read this book – live it. And help another man do the same.

Claim your identity. Embrace God's favor. Change your world.
